What makes a vehicle a Jeep?
For most people, when they see the very familiar grille that holds seven bars, that is what makes a vehicle a Jeep. But aside from that, other feature like its capacity to trudge through the off roads is what keeps the Jeep brand ahead. Any Jeep vehicle is very capable and the 2006 Jeep Liberty is certainly no exemption.
Created and manufactured by the car maker Daimler Chrysler, the Jeep Liberty has been in production since 2002. And to the present, it is still continuously produced while receiving some sprucing up and some upgrades every now and then. In the Jeep brand's line up of rugged and muscular vehicles, the Jeep Liberty took the spot that used to belong to the Jeep Cherokee. This compact sport utility vehicle has been created and known in one body style only which is the sport utility vehicle that holds four doors. Its frame is based on the FR/AWD/4WD KJ platform that was used in its construction.
The power that makes the Jeep Liberty move towards new distances and conquer various road conditions comes from three engine choices – the 2.4 liter PowerTech I4 engine, 3.7 liter PowerTech V6, and the 2.8 liter VM Motori CRD. Any of these engines is coupled up with a four speed 45RFE automatic transmission system for a better performance and handling. The Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Escape, Hyundai Tucson, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Xterra are a few of the vehicles that consider the Jeep Liberty as their competition in the auto market.
